The farm that produces this coffee goes by the name of Sierra Azul and is situated in the Chiapas region in the south of Mexico. Chiapas is part of a region that shares a border with the El Triunfo reservation. This ecosystem and its evergreen forests are home to various endangered animals and plants and are thus of high value for this particular part of the country. Hence, coffee farmers have made nature protection one of their highest priorities. Farmers usually manage between 5 and 25 hectares of land and grow their coffee at between 1200 and 1600 meters above sea level. Coffee from this region is known for its dominant chocolatey flavors with hints of berries.
